For this week’s Ableton Rack I have a chord rack for you guys.
It’s a fairly simple rack with one Macro.
Inside the rack, you will find 104 different chains with Chord MIDI effect on each one. This gives you a total of more than a hundred chord types (!) to play with. Check out the Chord Cheat Sheet for more info on the Chord MIDI effect.
Just move the Chord Selector Macro and hit a key on your MIDI keyboard. The first half of the Macro knob will give you more simple chords and the second half of the knob will introduce more complex chords with more color and tension
Try to place a few notes in a MIDI clip and automate the Macro for a really quick way of composing chord progressions.
Installation
1. Double click on the downloaded file to open it up in Ableton Live
2. Click on the Save button at the top right corner of the device

This looks really interesting and I want to check it out but I don’t want to give credit card info until i want to buy it if i dig.
Please link me a download and if i dig, i will not only donate, but encourage students to get and donate as well.
Hey Bob,
This is a free download. Make sure you put 0 in the amount. No credit card needed.
I cannot download this for free. It’s asking for a credit card. Am i doing something wrong?
Make sure you put 0 for the amount.
When I double click the downloaded file it opens Ableton, but just gives a blank project. How or where do I find it in Ableton?
try to double click it again once Live is open. Then you will see the Rack and you’ll be able to save it.
Thanks!
Thanks. Already made a new instrument rack using this.
Thanx for your great racks, I wish I could trade something else than money cause I don’t have much at the moment.
Are the chords named?
