The other day I saw a promo video for the new Fab Filter Pro-Q. Feature-packed EQ with a lot of tricks up his sleeve.
One of the tricks is using a tilt EQ, Which will boost all the frequencies from a certain point and attenuate all the frequencies below that point and vice versa.
I’ve decided to make a Rack that mimics that functionality. It gives you a coloring EQ that is really great for quickly making any sound brighter or darker. I’ve also added a Dynamic Tube and a Glue Compressor with very subtle settings to some Analog flavor. All Devices are set to Hi-Quality/Resampling modes for the smoothes sonic results.
Macros
Freq: change the frequency at which the EQ will Tilt
Tilt: Tilt EQ Amount
Type: Changes Between Stereo EQ and 2 M/S EQs
Check out the Info View (Shift+?) and move your mouse over the Macros.
What are your favorite Tilt EQs?
Installation
1. Double click on the downloaded file to open it up in Ableton Live
2. Click on the Save button at the top right corner of the device
Good for Live 8?
No, Unfortunately the EQ in Live 8 is completely different EQ then in Live 9.
