For this week Free Rack Wednesday I made a Dimension Expander effect rack inspired by the Dimension Expander in Native Instrument’s Massive.
This rack features the Reverb and Filter Delay.
The Reverb is being used very lightly to add a very subtle sense of space and depth. It it set to 200-800ms without any modulations.
The Reverb is followed by a Filter Delay that is not used as a delay but rather as a Haas Effect. In other words the filter delay splits the signal into left and right and delay one of the sides slightly.
Thanks to Filter Delay control over the left right and center volumes I was able to make the rack mono compatible. Meaning that even if you use the dimension expander you will still retain focus in mono and won’t loose any valuable sonic content.
Macros
Dry/Wet – Amount of effect
Separate – Amount of left-right separation and reverb decay time
