Fantasy Arps

This rack was inspired by a post from Dr. Guy Shkolnik on IG. It’s a beautiful arp sequence where you play 1/16 notes in your left hand and triplets in your right hand. Since it’s very hard to actually play live I’ve decided to make a rack that does exactly it until I can actually play it on the piano.

This will create a beautiful soundscape of running arps for a dreamy feel.

The Rack

The rack consists of two chains. One for the bottom 1/16 notes run and another for the triplets. It’s a combination of Chord MIDI effects with the Arpeggiator to create this beautiful sequence. Place any instrument you want after. In the video, I’m using the Rapid Synth from Parawave.

Macros

Octaves 1-3 – Change the number of octaves for the sequence

Gate – Change the note lengths. Over 100% will give a different rhythm

Groove – Add swing and correlates with the Gate macro.

Random Velocity – Randomize the outgoing velocity. Please note the instrument need to have velocity mapped to something in order for this to affect anything.
