Amapiano, which translates to "the pianos," gets its name from the prominent use of piano (Electric) sounds in its music.

Key Elements of Amapiano

In this session, we will explore the key elements that define the style. Subby kick, Shaker Loops, Log Drum bass, Jazzy-lounge chords, and a lot of syncopated percussion.

Syncopated Rhythm Techniques

Syncopation is a key characteristic of Amapiano's percussion rhythms. It involves emphasizing offbeat or unexpected rhythms to create a distinct and danceable groove. Layering and accenting these intricate percussion rhythms is crucial in the genre.
