A genre that bridges chilled-out moods with the pulse of house music, Lofi House blends dusty textures, soulful chords, and warm grooves into something hypnotic and deeply nostalgic.

In this session, we explore the core techniques behind Lofi House production in Ableton—from crunchy drums and hazy samples to ambient vocal chops and syncopated basslines.

How to Lofi House: Learn what defines the Lofi House sound and what are the best tools and techniques to recreate it inside Ableton.

Lofi Chill Chords: Dive into jazzy, nostalgic chord progressions using lush voicings and layering, detuned synths, and soft tape saturation for that signature lo-fi character.

Fat Syncopated Bass Patterns: Program gritty, groovy basslines with off-beat syncopation that push the groove forward and bring the low end to life.

Ambient Vocal Chops: Learn how to create dreamy vocal textures using old samples, formant-shifting, delay techniques, and reverb-heavy processing.

Sequencing Arp Melodies: Build hypnotic melodic sequences with Ableton's sequencers and add subtle automation that shimmer in the background of your mix.

Using the free LiveCrusher (Camel Crusher Clone) with Ableton's built-in Roar and Limiter to create a beefy master output for a fat mixdown.

 

Vocal Chops Filter Verb

This rack can be place after any sound you want to send to the background like lofi vocal chops. It is using two instances of Hybrid Reverb - one for an actual reverb and one for a tone selector using a small size convolution reverb impulse responses.
