Shape the vocal from one rack
Gate
Set the gate threshold for your recording. The original guide suggests starting around −45 to −55 dB, then adjusting for the input level.
EQ Intensity
Control the pre-EQ and mid/side EQ together.
Verb
Blend parallel Hybrid Reverb.
Slap Delay
Add a short stereo delay for dimension.
Air
Brighten the vocal.
Compress
Adjust compression and multiband compression.
Top Harmony
Add higher- and lower-octave harmony.
Echo
Add a one-bar echo with gentle auto-panning.
Live 10 and 11 version notes
The earlier versions use Roth-Air. The original download includes variants with and without Auto-Tune. If using your own pitch-correction plug-in, place it before the rack or after its first Gate device. Third-party plug-ins are not supplied with the rack.
Before you download
- Live 12.1 update: Ableton Live Suite 12.1 or later, using built-in devices.
- Earlier Live 10 and 11 versions have different plug-in requirements. See the version notes below.
Ableton Live and any separately required third-party software are not included.
Install in Live
- Install any required packs or plug-ins listed here first.
- Double-click the downloaded rack file to open it in Ableton Live.
- Click the rack’s Save button to keep it in your User Library.
