Lofi Hip Hop Overview

This online music production workshop is designed for producers of all levels. The workshop will cover essential skills for Lofi production, including sound design for drums, creating a distinct "Swing & Drunk" feel, incorporating deep side-chained sublines,  jazz chords, and mastering with a tape aesthetic.

Workshop Topics:

1. Introduction to Lofi Hip Hop:
   • Understanding the origins and characteristics of Lofi Hip Hop.
   • Analyzing popular Lofi tracks for inspiration.
2. Sound Design for Lofi Drums:
   • Selecting and layering drum samples.
   • Lofi Sound Design and Drum mixing
   • Techniques for achieving the characteristic warm and dusty drum sound.
3. Swing & Drunk Feel:
   • Exploring the importance of swing in Lofi beats.
   • Adding a "drunk" feel through intentional timing variations.
   • Using swing presets and customizing swing settings in Ableton
4. Deep Side-Chained Sublines:
   • Understanding the role of sublines in Lofi Hip Hop.
   • Implementing side-chain compression to create a smooth and pulsating sub-bass effect.
   • Choosing suitable bass sounds for a deep and mellow vibe (Preset Included!)
5. Easy Jaaazzz Chords:
   • Exploring lofi jazz chord progressions.
   • Utilizing seventh chords and extensions for a jazzy sound.
6. Tape Mastering:
   • Introduction to free tape emulation plugins.
   • Applying tape saturation for warmth and character.
   • Techniques for achieving a lo-fi, vintage sound during
